Ongoing Items

Pride Week:  Julie Beck

Tiger Pride was implemented three years ago in an effort to increase respect for oneself, others, and the school.  During the first year, Tiger Pride was held on Fridays and students were encouraged to wear their Pride Day shirts.  For the last two years, the counselor has been giving character lessons during Pride Day.  Parents and teachers alike have seen a huge improvement with spirit and respect in the schools.  “Tiger Trackers” have been implemented this year to reward students who are caught doing good deeds.  Students get to hang their name in the Elementary School foyer and earn one point that they can spend in the Tiger Pride Store.  Money raised by the PTSA for Tiger Pride is spent on the popcorn and movie at the end of the year and for the prizes given out at the Tiger Pride Store.

PTSA held a car bashing fundraiser during Homecoming Week for Tiger Pride.  Students loved bashing the car and the money raised went to the athletics budget.

Idaho Preferred will start after Harvest at the Elementary School only.  Two items cost $20.00 and kids will get an “exclusive” tiger pride dog tag.  Forms for Idaho Select will be given out at the Halloween Carnival.

Harold Isaak attended the meeting to discuss the possibility of a Melaleuca Fundraiser.  Aberdeen PTSA would sign up with Melaleuca for no cost or obligation.  PTSA members could then purchase products and PTSA would get a percentage of the sales.  Harold described the fundraising program and handed out catalogs.  PTSA needs to discuss this fundraiser and vote on implementing it or not.

Pizza Sales:  Jodie Feld

Pizza sales brought in $345.00.  Next year pizza sales will be sold in the Middle School in the fall and sold in the spring in the Elementary School.

Upcoming Items

Halloween Carnival:  Kristin Brehend and Erika Ingersoll

There will not be Trunk or Treat provided by the LDS church this year.  Instead, Tiger Lane will be closed and kids can Trunk or Treat there.  Kids will receive a stamp at the beginning of the line and given a glow stick at the end of the line.  At the end of the line, kids will be directed into the Middle School where the Halloween Carnival will take place.  Student organizations can sign up to run a booth or activity and all proceeds will go to their individual group.  Cool to be kind group will run the spook alley.  No one under 10 is allowed to go into the spook alley.

Mayor Andersen has to approve shut down of Tiger Lane.

Member Appreciation Dinner

PTSA would like to hold a Member Appreciation Dinner for all members.  We discussed and voted on October 16th to hold the dinner but may consider moving the dinner because of the Halloween Carnival.  We also discussed hiring Del Monte to prepare part of the dinner.  Anna Aldous volunteered the BPA group to decorate for the dinner.

Book Fair

Last year the book fair made $2627.28.  This is a profitable fundraiser that allows the libraries to purchase new books.  Book Fair is almost here.
